About GROW Teaching Garden

GROW – Gardening to Reconect to Our World

GROW Teaching Garden is an experiential garden that uses organic, sustainable practices to improve the land and create beauty within an urban setting. Students from Kendall Whittier Elementary, Tulsa Educare and neighborhood families visit through classes, field trips, and family drop-ins, learning about ecosystems, climate, and their role in an interconnected living world.

Children grow and sample a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and edible plants year-round, learning the value of fresh, healthy food. Cooking activities inspired by diverse cultures celebrate food and community. Composting shows how waste becomes healthy soil that supports plants and wildlife. Flowers provide habitat for pollinators and opportunities for children to create and share bouquets.

The Community and Teaching Gardens Programs welcome donations of gently used garden tools and non-GMO, organic seeds and plants.
